Hi, I’m Ricardo Rodrigues. I’m Portuguese and have called Macau my home for 13 years. I have worked in education for around nine years (since September 2017), progressing from classroom teacher to Vice‑Director, and I currently serve as the Director of CISJ.

My practice is grounded in child‑centred, play‑based learning, with strong inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. I hold a PGDE in Infant Education, a degree in Accounting, a BSc in Anthropology, and a Master’s in Business Administration. I also hold a Portuguese CAP (teaching certificate for professional courses).

Across my roles—teacher, tutor, playgroup facilitator, sub‑teacher at TIS, Vice‑Director, and now Director—I’ve focused on building nurturing, inclusive environments where children feel valued and can learn and grow. At CISJ, I’m committed to supporting our educators, strengthening partnerships with families, and ensuring high‑quality, developmentally appropriate learning for every child.

I am proud to lead CISJ and to continue serving the Macau community I call home.
